# Slow mode (for wide audiences)

If you have an extremely active chat where users feel agitated and extremely emotional, you can activate a slow mode to prevent spam. To do so, activate slow mode and select a timeout for users—how long they need to wait before sending the next message in a chat. The mode can be enabled and disabled anytime.
